The shops are crammed full with Easter elements, such as Easter eggs, baskets, chocolate bunnies, candies, marshmallows, cards, etc. Making Easter eggs is certainly one of the most exciting and fun activities to celebrate Easter. Decorating colorful Easter eggs totally depends upon your choice of colors and pattern. You can decorate your eggs as simple or as fancy as you want!

Easter Eggs Decorations Ideas

Bluebird Egg

Materials Required
  • Eggs
  • Store-bought Egg Dye (blue)
  • Printed Paper/ Cardstock
  • Yellow Cardstock
  • Scissors
  • Craft Glue
  • Fine-tip Black Marker
Instructions
  • Dye the egg blue. Allow it to dry completely.
  • Cut a wing from printed paper or cardstock.
  • Glue the wing to the side of the egg.
  • Cut a triangle portion from the yellow cardstock to form the beak.
  • Fold a tab at the flat end and glue it to the end of the egg. Leave it for drying.
  • Using a black marker, draw an eye on the egg to complete your bluebird.
  • Place the egg sideways on a little nest or a bed of grass.
Decal Dyed Easter Eggs

Materials Required
  • Easter Egg Dye
  • Boiled Eggs
  • Paper Towel
  • Cooling Rack
  • Newspaper
  • Tiny Stickers in Different Shapes
Instructions
  • Cover the working area with newspapers.
  • Place the cooling rack on the newspapers.
  • Prepare the egg dye as instructed by the manufacturer.
  • Use separate cups for each color of dye.
  • Dry the eggs completely with paper towels.
  • Stick tiny stickers on the eggs, as desired by you.
  • Dye the eggs according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  • Keep the eggs on the cooling rack to dry.
  • Carefully peel off the stickers from the egg shells.
  • You can fill the white portions in lighter shades or leave them white.
  • Dry them completely and your dyed eggs are ready.
Speckled Eggs

Materials Required
  • Eggs
  • Store-bought Egg Dyes
  • Acrylic Craft Paint
  • Old Toothbrush
  • Wax Paper
Instructions
  • Dye the eggs in the desired colors and dry them completely.
  • Take some acrylic craft paint on a piece of wax paper.
  • Dip the toothbrush in the paint and dab the excess onto the wax paper.
  • Place the egg on the wax paper with one hand and with the other hand, hold the toothbrush about 2 inches away from the egg.
  • Run your thumb along the bristles to spray paint the egg. Dry the eggs completely before using them for further decorations.
Preppy Eggs

Materials Required
  • Eggs
  • Store-bought Egg Dyes
  • Grosgrain Ribbon (½ to 1 inch width)
  • Foam Brush
  • Craft Glue
  • Wax Paper
  • Scissors
Instructions
  • Dye the eggs in your choice of colors. Dry them completely.
  • Place a sheet of wax paper on a hard surface.
  • Lay down a strip of ribbon longer than the circumference of the egg on the wax paper.
  • Cover the entire surface of the ribbon with craft glue.
  • Lay the egg at one end of the ribbon and roll it carefully till the ribbon is fully encircled on the egg.
  • Allow the ribbon to overlap the starting point by ¾ inch. Cut out the remaining ribbon piece.
  • Using your fingers, smooth out the ribbon against the egg. Dry completely.
